Turning a manual supply chain into a mobile ordering flow

The Challenge

Farm Alert already runs real infrastructure on the ground, distribution centers across Nigeria and Liberia getting animal health products out to remote community vet stores and farmers. But getting stock into someone's hands still meant working through slow, manual ordering channels. The brief was to build a mobile ordering app, and the server logic behind it, so community vet stores and farmers could browse and order animal health products directly, routed straight to the nearest distribution center.

Building the app and the server logic behind it

What We Did

We designed and built Farm Alert's mobile ordering app end-to-end, along with the server logic powering it, so community vet stores and farmers could browse animal health products and place an order in a few taps instead of chasing stock through manual channels.

On the backend, we built order routing that connects each request to the right distribution center out of Farm Alert's 8 centers across Nigeria and Liberia, so orders reach the nearest available stock instead of a single, central warehouse.

Because the people using this app are often in low-connectivity, remote areas, we built it mobile-first from the ground up, prioritising reliability on weak networks over anything that assumes a fast, constant connection.

The Results

Farm Alert's mobile ordering app shipped as a working app and backend, giving community vet stores and farmers a direct, mobile ordering flow for animal health products, plugged straight into Farm Alert's existing network of 8 distribution centers across Nigeria and Liberia. Getting essential animal health products into remote communities no longer depends on slow, manual coordination.

"CWT built us an ordering app that actually works where our farmers and vet stores are, low connectivity, remote areas. Stock now moves faster because ordering doesn't depend on a phone call anymore."
