Booking a shortlet in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt usually means wiring money to an agent you've never met and hoping the listing is real. HomeFairy wanted to fix that at the root: a marketplace where every agent is biometrically verified, every payment sits in escrow until the stay is confirmed, and property owners can actually see where their money is at every step. It had to work for both sides, giving owners a safe way to list and get paid, and giving agents a legitimate, KYC-backed channel to close real deals.

We designed and built HomeFairy end-to-end, starting with biometric KYC verification, NIN checks plus Face ID liveness, so every agent on the platform is a real, accountable person before they can list a deal.

We built the escrow payment flow as a visible, step-by-step process, funded, stay completed, owner confirms, funds released, so both sides always know exactly where their money stands, alongside a real-time deal room for owners and agents to chat and share documents without leaving the app.

On top of that, we shipped AI-powered property search so renters can describe what they need in plain English instead of wrestling with filters, and an analytics dashboard so property owners and agents can track bookings, revenue and performance in real time.

Ahead of its public launch, HomeFairy brought on 2,400+ KYC-verified agents and queued up 5,800+ shortlet listings across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, with the full escrow payment flow, deal room and AI search already built and live on the waitlist site. HomeFairy is set to launch with real supply and real agents in place, not an empty marketplace waiting to fill up.
